A Unique Opportunity for Technical and Specialist Staffs in Higher Education

The HEaTED project has entered a dynamic phase of development that addresses the well documented concerns of technical and specialist staff (referred to as TSS). The cornerstone of what is a novel and exciting prospect, is TSS themselves. Success will depend on the extent of their engagement in, and commitment to, a tremendous opportunity that may well shape personal careers, professional recognition, as well as technical services in HE.

So, this can be viewed as an invitation to TSS; all grades and all professional disciplines. It explains how you can contribute your own experience, knowledge and skills to build up a web-based facility for TSS throughout the UK. You will thereby gain valuable recognition for yourself and for TSS as a professional group within HE.

The ideas and proposals included in this web site are largely based on a national survey of university technical staff and specialists, published in 2006. It was the largest HE survey ever undertaken - well over 3,000 individuals responded!
