The Stepping Stones to Improvement toolkit is designed to improve effectiveness and performance by supporting you in your day-to-day activities, with personal development, and when working with your team.

The toolkit covers 15 core leadership and management topics, including Communication, Leadership, Personal Perfomance, Strategy and Work-Life Balance. Each topic features a range of practical tools and resources that can be used by you, your team and your colleagues.

A few Scottish councils may already provide access to a customised version of this toolkit for some or all of their employees. *goodpractice.net toolkits are currently used by many public sector staff across Scotland and the rest of the UK. The Improvement Service has negotiated additional access to this product for Scottish Councils on a one-year pilot. We will be assessing and monitoring usage throughout this trial period to inform future decisions around requirement, benefits and support.
